Here are 3 methods you can use to remove the old wax from the jar.
+ Method 1: Use Boiling Water
Step 1 - Boil water
Boil water in a small pot on your stovetop.
Step 2 - Pour boiling water into candle jar
Place candle jar on a protected surface. Pour boiling water in to the candle jar, leaving room at the top. Let sit for an hour or until cooled and the wax has settled to the top.
Step 3 - Remove wax and clean
Once the melted wax has settled to the top and cooled, remove and throw away all hardened wax bits. Scrape out any remaining wax at the bottom and clean jar with water and dish soap.
+ Method 2: Use Your Freezer
Step 1 - Freeze candle wax
Put the candle jar in your freezer for a few hours or until frozen.
Step 2 - Remove wax
Once frozen, you should be able to notice the wax has shrunk in volume. You should be able to remove the wax easily from your jar. If necessary, using a butter knife helps to loosen it.
Step 3 - Clean out jar
Remove any remaining wax from the jar. Use water and dish soap to clean out.

If you conveniently have a candle warmer on hand, this is easiest way for a quick wax removal.
Step 1 - Warm up candle wax
Place jar on candle warmer and wait until wax has melted completely.
Step 2 - Pour out wax
Place a few paper towels on a protected surface like a paper plate or something disposable. Slowly pour out all the melted wax on to the paper towel.
Step 3 - Clean out jar
Wipe out any remaining wax from the jar. Use water and dish soap to clean out.
