+ How We Started
Maika'i Mood started as a passion project for owner Gigi Cabrera. Inspired by her love for crafting, she embarked on Maika'i Mood as a personal endeavor. Channeling her passion into candle making, she began sharing her handcrafted gifts with loved ones.
In 2019, with the help of her daughter Nicole and her background in product development, they decided to pursue Maika'i Mood in to a business. Together with the collaboration of their family members, they combined their skills and vision to bring Maika'i Mood to fruition.
+ The Meaning Behind Our Name
Maika'i Mood originated from our profound connection to the Hawaiian culture and our family having deep roots on the islands. We wanted to embrace the beauty that is the Hawaiian language and create a name that embodies positivity.
Maika'i (my-kah-ee) in Hawaiian meaning "Good"; "Excellent".
Our goal is to curate products that reflect our brand name Maika'i Mood ("Good Mood") with intention and purpose.
